Subject: 10 worst Led Zeppelin songs
If you count The Girl She had long Wavy Hair and Something Else from
BBC Sessions and Cmon Everybody from the Led Zeppelin DVD, Led
Zeppelin did 87 songs (84 from their 9 studio albums... including the
bonus tracks on CODA)

These would be my 10 least favorite Led Zeppelin songs (I dont hate
them though... there is nothing about Zeppelin that I hate, I wouldnt
say that about any of my other favorite bands). All other 77 I like.

1. Walter's Walk (Coda)
Their worst song ever. Very generic and unrecoginzable. And Plant's
worst vocal performance

2. Candy Store Rock (Presence)
Too much repetition of 'Oh Baby Baby' gets annoying

3. Hots on For Nowhere (Presence)
Something half-arsed about the composition here. Not too much thought
put on this.

4. For Your Life (Presence)
I don't find this song particularly memorable. The riffs kinda sound
samey throughout.

5. Ozone Baby (Coda)
Just doesnt work! Sounds contrived

6. Out on the Tiles (Led Zeppelin III)
Totally generic hard rock song. Sounds like a song Aerosmith would do.

7. Tea For One (Presence)
Too long and slow.

8. The Crunge (Houses of the Holy)
Some of the funk in the song is likeable, but overall a silly song

9. Carouselambra (In Through the Out Door)
Somewhat too long, though it has some cool synth lines.

10. You Shook Me (Led Zeppelin)
A little too bluesy for me. I prefer I Cant Quit You Baby over this.

Both are far superior to Presence IMHO. For CODA you have to include
those 4 extras tracks which are the best songs on the album.

To be on topic... (sorry to digress), I notice 4 of your 10 come from
Presence. Seems the band was trying to run on autopilot on that album.
Except for Achilles Last Stand I think most of what Plant sings was
made up on the spot. Hearing some of his improv lyrics on the double
live DVD from a few years back pretty much reinforced that conclusion
for me. Considering what came after, I think 'Achilles...' was like a
last glorious stand of a once great band. (I have both Coda and ITTOD,
but never listened to either of them enough to know if their tuneage
sucks more than the majority of Presence.)

On the contrary, I think that honor belongs to you.

Lets add Raja to this page. He definately belongs:

Interesting page, actually. I haven't come across any of those people myself, except for the "MI5" guy and Publius.

Thank heavens Scott Lifsh*ne isn't immortalized there.

I would add that guy...oh damn, what was his name? I'll have to Google. Oh yes, "Kansan1225." I used to know his real name,
but I've forgotten it.

That man's posts were uniquely insane. Never seen anyone else who reached quite his heights of serious delusion.

He's just ignorant.

1-10: Raja

Bill

This is too much, Raja. Post to the appropriate newsgroup.
List compulsion is one thing. Ignoring continued suggestions to post
appropriately is, I forget the technical term, but let's just say too
much with no connection to reality or social behavior.
