Four players (Nadal, Federer, Murray, Djokovic) are good enough to
reach the top and it all depends on a little luck here and there to
get the upper hand.
It will be super for tennis lovers.
This just an expo but Nadal looked sharp while Federer looked a little
flat. Murray was inconsistent and almost let the match slip away.
---
One slam for each in 2009?

Federina will win 1 slam or no slams at all in 2009. He is in
decline.
Think Sampras in the early 2000s.

Wondrous Lisperian homoeroticism... Sampras woulda
won whatever he wanted to.. and then gave *me* what
I like, where I like it.
Nice fantasy, for our Resident Klown. :)

I would be disappointed if Federer did not win at least one slam but
it is silly to hope for the French.

Did you see how Nadal destroyed Davy with his powerful and accurate
shots? You need a miracle to beat Nadal on clay. He is so good, it is
scary. Federer used to be that good...

see Nadal match the day before, then download the final from somewhere.
Check out the second set and when Murray should've got the break, the
linesmen for a second time clearly ignores Fed's shot being out.

I think he was asking for something like footage of Fed slipping money into
the linesman's pocket. Look, I don't know about you but I think you deserve
to lose if you let one bad call ruin the rest of the match for you...

Nadal is favored to win the French and has a fair chance at Wimbledon
Federer is favored to win Wimbledon and has a fair chance at the
Australian and the US
Djokovic and Murray both have good chances at the Australian and at
the US

That is how each should end up with one slam. After the Australian, we
will know a lot more. They are so close that injury and conditioning
could make a big difference.
If Federer won two slams and broke Sampras=92 record, some "people" on
rst could hang themselves. Go Roger!

I would think the top 2's genuine fans would say no straight away,
Djokovic's fans mainly no and Murray fans would bite your hand off for
that.Particularly if they get to choose which one. My guess is that Murray
has another final and 2 semis plus an early exit this year. I can't believe
how many self-described Federer fans are writing him off. His progression
last year of SF,good kicking, close loss, easy win looks promising enough to
ignore his poor non GS form to me.

Remeber Sampras could easily only have 9 slams he coulda lost to Lendl,
Korda, Corretja,
Ivanisevic and a few others.

Not really. Had he lost those he woulda won others to make up the
difference - remember he was always after the slam record so wouldn't
have quit until he got it.

Would he? Lets say he lost those five set matches I just mentioned and
there were
two more I did not mentioned 1 against Hbarty and 1 against Kafelnikov.
Where
can he find the other seven slams to win 14 in total ? He lost pretty
comprehensively
to both Hewitt and Safin in USO final. He lost in five to Federer and
Bastl in Wimbledon,
he lost to Agassi in AO ( although he had the chance to win that match) and
probably would
go on to win the title. If Samrpas lost those five set matches it is
unlikely that he would have
14 slams when he retired in 2002.

At the time of all those losses he had already established the slam
record, & as he said didn't know why he was still lacing up his shoes.

It would have been a different Sampras - one who played with more
urgency & sense of purpose.

Think again. Remember this is a guy who did just enough to establish
all time markers (yr-end No.1, slam records etc) so no way would you see
him play with same intensity once he had crossed the line.

Exactly. If he hadn't reached the slam target, the urgency would still have
been there and he undoubtly would have won the Bastl and Fed matches at
least.

A tired Murray and the paid linesman had a lot to do with that 'easy win'.
