Subject: AO schedule?
Anyone who knows where I can find the overall schedule for AO (e.g.
semfinal and final date and time)? I wonder when the semifinals are
played. Thursday, Friday or Saturday?

PS.

The AU site hides it pretty well:

http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/tickets/schedule.html

Women's semi - Thursday.
Men's semi - Thursday and Friday.

And both finals are night matches. 7.30 pm local time.

Hm, men's semifinals both on Thursday and Friday... Isn't that
unusual? They use to be played the same day. It will be an advantage to
have a semifinal on Thursday (Federer/Djokovic) IMO. The restitution
time before the final should be as equal as possible.

PS.

No, it's usual. I think it began the year after Steffi Graf destroyed her
opponent in one women's semi and the other semi was also a quick match. The
organizers decided they needed a big men's match so Thursday wouldn't be a
write-off if it happened again.

Not at the AO. There are usually threads about this every year.

The Friday winner still gets a full day of rest. Compare that with the
US Open where nobody gets enough rest and the winner of the 2nd match is
at a significant disadvantage especially after a tough SF.

AO is quite fair in making for a well-rested final.

That might be. But still, I think to have both semis on Friday would be
the most fair.

Not as fair as FO/Wim.

Best I could find was this from the tickets page. Hard to figure out when
which matches are played-
