Correct. Fed was acting like a 9 year old.

Boring. Try another troll, this one has been done to death.
Or, maybe, try actually talking about tennis?
A novel thought, I must admit. But maybe its worth a shot?

That's because outside rst Federer gets treated with kid gloves.
Somehow Federer got the label
"classy" and it's stuck, so even when he makes comments that aren't
classy he never gets any heat for it.

The really classy player in terms of comments to the press,
complimenting opponents, etc. is Nadal. He would
never come out with something like "I crushed Federer in the FO
final." Yet Fed does that to Roddick.

Rafa is not insecure like Roger - he knows we all know it was a
thrashing - only takes away from it if he points it out.

Everyone who is involved with Federer says he is a very nice guy.
Jarkko always says it, every player says it, but I hear it more
directly from Jarkko. A TV guy from my work tried to interview the
players at FO some years ago. A guy from here, from small unimportant
country. He talked for long time after that how nice Federer was, no
problem to get an interview. Unlike Agassi for example, who just
walked past with his team.

There is this strange tendency in rst to read every word of his every
interview very very closely and try to find something to attack. To me
it is like Whisper saying "he lost a set to 35-year old Agassi, so
that proves he is a total loser". When there is no reasonable way to
attack his tennis, people try to find something, and that seems
desperate and sad. And it is even not necessary any more, his tennis
can be attacked now.

I am sorry, I think you are a reasonable guy, but I think this
campaign of yours is repulsive.

That's because of his fanboys tendency to portray him as a virgin Mary
no matter what he says.

However this phenomenon is apparent in all tennis discussion groups...as
if controversy was bad for sports and players had to be saints.

But both comments combined make it sound super arrogant no matter if
true...I played badly, she played her best ever and I still won...

"I was a little tight, but it was just more my mistakes," Williams said.
"I really should've closed it off in two sets and I'm not really happy
with the way I played today.

"I've watched her (Wozniacki) a lot, and she played totally different
from what I've seen her play. I think this is the best she's ever played
in her life really."

Yes - ridiculous. I don't think Federer was dissing Murray in the
slightest. All he was saying that to make him the *favorite* going into
the AO when he's never won a Slam and lost in the 1R last year (albeit to
the eventual finalist) is going a little far. And it is. *A* favorite,
sure. *The* favorite over Federer, who's won it twice and hasn't failed to
reach the sf since 2003?

Well, she *won* the match. Usually the classless stuff is when she loses.

It also depends on how they are said - comments can come across quite
baldly in print.

Watching the actual press conference, I didn't think there was much in
what Federer said at all.
