Hantuchova and Sugiyama.

For some reason, we're watching a doubles semifinal on Tennis Channel,
although the on-line guide sez we're supposed to be seeing some singles
quarterfinals.

And, incidentally, it's 124 F on-court.

Actually, it was a doubles quarterfinal. And the AO's page said the
first singles quarterfinal wasn't supposed to begin until 1:30 AEDT
(8:30 US ET) anyhow.

The doubles was a gas. Thankfully, they play a full third set instead
of going straight to the Bastard Match Tiebreak.

That Sugiyama, some reflexes, eh? I guess it's almost a matter of simple
physics, that if the path from brain to hand is half as long, so is the
motor-time.

I was expecting them to keep playing regular games in the third until
someone finally broke or broke-and-consolidated, just like in the singles.

What a match!

(It must've made Huber and Black dizzy to look across the net.)
