Subject: Can Nadal equal Agassi / Couriers record ?
Last 2 players I believe to win the 1st leg of the calendar slams
before falling at Wimbledon .

Only Roger has been one match away - thanks to Nadal - from equalling
this feat over the last few years.

Well no offence to Fed fans , but maybe not - unless Wilmbledon can
restore some confidence or something else..

I dont think Nadal is going to have an easy time of winning it again
though , I might be wrong , but something tells me he'll vulnerable
after gruelling clay schedule again against some of the guys wanting
to make a name.

thats exactly what I meant

nothing more

nothing less

I was wrong about Agassi , i wasnt sure going from memory , I could of
sworn there was one year he posed to do get them all in year , but
thinking back FO if I remember was the start of his resurgence so it
couldnt of been i.e. he never managed to win AO then FO .. etc

Nadal has good chance of it I believe , the US is going to be the real
challange for him with Murray , Fed and all the rest of them gunning
for it.

Since Laver? Borg 78 & 80 got to USOfinal when USO was 3rd leg.

But this is just basic tennis knowledge and even corrected to you a
couple of weeks ago and another example of your superior skills...

Er, Agassi didn't win the AO in 1999.

The last person before Courier to win the first two slams was Wilander
in 1988, I believe.

Correct. Wilander has gone furthest towards winning calendar slam since
Laver (Q/f Wimbledon v Mecir, while Courier lost 3rd rd). I guess no
fluke Wilander is only man in history to win multiple slams on all 3
surfaces. Rafa can join him him with 1 more Wimbledon & either USO/AO.

FFS I HATE IT when people say "roger was only one match away"

FED HASNT GOT PAST THE SECOND HURDLE!!!

it's simply moronic to assume that feds effort would be the same as if
someone has won AO, Fo, Wim, then USO final...

duh!!

Correct. Fed never got half way. Only Laver, Wilander & Courier have
done that in open era.
