++ That's a good one indeed... especially in New York!

OK, good one!

I liked a sign from the 2007 playoffs, Indians vs. Yankees. Everyone's
talking about how Steinbrenner's going to give Torre the axe if the
Yankees don't win it all that year. The game's being televised by TBS
and some guy holds up
a sign:

T orre Must
B ring Boss
S hiny Rings

That just captured the moment with a little humor and godfather
imagery.

There's just no way you'd ever see a sign like that at a Rays or
D'Backs game. It's all boring crap like "We love our Rays!!!"

++ The great Red Army hockey team from Moscow is in to play the
defending Stanley Cup champions in 1975 (December) and when the fourth
Flyer goal goes in late in the 3rd period with the Spectrum in a glass
shattering bedlam, the stoic figure of the sign man (who brough a
brief of signs he'd tailor for various games) held aloft a sign
saying, "Bring on the Martians!"

Is anyone going to come up with another sign besides that "Shh quiet"
one. It's getting old.

But then again, it's seems it's only New York fans who can ever come
up with a decent sign anyway, at least
in the U.S.
