Even if he picks up the ball, he cannot hit an offensive shot. It puts
him on defense. Thats what Steffi did. she put opponents on defense
with extremely low slices. And then pounced with her forehand when she
got a chance. It is common logic. Even Lendl did that, but his slices
were not as effective as Graf and morever his opponents were mostly
serve volleyers which gave him less chance to do this.

Federer like Lendl and Graf has an offensive forehand and a weaker
single handed backhand. Also he has a good serve like both. I would
put all the three in same category. Only big difference, Fedeerer is
arrogant and a total IDIOT.

Not on hard courts, carpet and clay. And the grass of the 90s was a
bit slower than that of the 80s but much faster than 00s

This is one of Rafa's great defensive weapons that doesn't get talked
about much. This is "disruptive technology", so to speak. How many
would be winners does Nadal manage to thwart by just scooping up the
ball from the floor from impossible positions? It not only often wins
him the point, but also weighs down on the mind of his opponent.
Supreme scrambling defense.

Roger needs some lessons from Steffi. Her slices pretty much killed
the ball on court. It used to be that low.

Rafa is really good at attacking the slice though, so unless it's a
real knifing slice I'm not so sure that
strategy going to work for Roger. And it's tough to hit those knifing
slices off of Rafa's spin.

He was whacking the ball out or in the net mostly because of that
dreadful topspin backhand. Why not resort to some slices and then run
over to your forehand like Steffi Graf did. I am beginning to think
Steffi was very intelligent. She had a similar game to Federer but she
hid her weaknesses much better. Roger needs to get a coach who can
advise him about strategies. Nadal is a lot cleverer. He constantly
hit to the backhand. He is doing what Sanchez Vicario used to do to
Graf.

You only need a plan B when plan A is being executed properly but is
failing. Here, Federer's plan A was fine as long as he wasn't
succumbing to nervousness or stupidity. No plan -- A, B, or C -- can
make up for missing half your first serves and whacking the ball out
on every other point.

I think thinking of equaling Sampras record got to him big time. He
needs a coach. He is too arrogant. What about a fucking plan B?
