Subject: Federer's FH this year in comparison to his FH in AO 2008 and most of
When I watch Federer playing now and getting stretched wide to his
forehand side, somehow my mind is still used to see him unable to hit
it back and losing the point, so I get surprised everytime how he hits
it clean with angle and pace.

So far his Forehand is back to his best and his confidence is high. He
also seems to be enjoying himself a lot out there and look to be happy
with his ranking and his goals in the next phase of his career.

He intentionally was giving him high balls to get him to hit long
balls.

It was, and to some extent still is the biggest weapon in his arsenal.
However, he's noticeably moved towards a more all-around game in the
last few years, and doesn't step around to drill it as often. In part,
it's because he realized that he doesn't need to. Watch last year's
Wimbledon final, and his inside-out forehand won't look so pale
anymore. When he needs to hit it, he can hit it. Against Korolev, all
he needs to do is keep the ball in play and make him uncomfortable.

Actually, I was disappointed from what I saw on ESPN2. For the most
part, his forehand was awfully loopy and lacking zip except he really
amped up in some points. I was amazed at how much pale his inside-out
FH looked. At one time, I thought that was the single most important
shot that carried him to the #1.

I am not talking about Murray, I'm talking about his FH.

You can't judge fed by how he plays against Korolev. Wait until he's
played a big-gun please. Because the 2x he has played a big-gun in
Murray this year, he's been thrown the the sharks.
