Nice to see Hops has updated his FEd vs Sampras comparison page - just the
slogan at the top still says AO 2008 but the numbers are all there
underneath.

http://tennis28.com/studies/Federer_Sampras.html

Hops: thanks for doing this. I do enjoy going back and following progress
occasionally.

Also needs to update the text in the beginning "With Federer
continuing his dominant play..." :-)

I advise that every page should include date when it was updated.

This way updating is easier and viewers of the site can also know how
new the data currently is and perhaps even calculate up to date figures
during the season if they are interested in some particular stat.

p.s. How in the world did you, Hops, manage to count stats such as games
won-lost? Seems like a huge amount of work and dedication.

There are readily available tennis databases out there. You can export data
and do all kinds of analysis....

It's still not complete through 2008 for some of the w-l / ranking
stats. getting there ... lots of other stuff on the site to update.

Going to add a couple comparison pages modeled on Fed v. Sampras:

Rafa v. Borg
Rafa v. Fed

stay tuned.

Yeah, I noticed the YE#1 wasn't quite right. :) But good to see you're
working on it and wanted to thank you for the effort.

Your grammar needs work, Lisper, though not as much
as your facts...

Federer is far ahead of Sappras in winning Majors
at their respective ages. Try to catch up, convict-boy...

Is Rafa light years ahead of Federer at same age?

Let's hear it - don't be shy.

Good one.

I guess stats are only good as long as they prove a view.

Lisp, lisp..

Are you the same Lisper who has said for many years that winning
Majors (I think you call them Slams)
is the the *only thing that matters?* Just checkin'...

Yes, unless of course you have opportunity to set *all time* records in
No.1 stats, which looks unlikely for Roger now. But I agree there is
little point in Fed just equalling Jimbo's 5 as it still is not a
record. Ideally he should aim for 7 yr-end no.1 honors, but he's too
old now.

Check for accuracy before you start trolling this shit, Sampras' 11
slams sure are impressive.

Don't know if I understand you correctly, but if you think there is an

If he thinks he can't get to & keep No.1 ranking any more than I endorse
this strategy 100%.

However it means he will only equal McEnroe & Lendl with 4 yr-end
No.1's, falling behind Jimbo's 5 & Sampras' 6.
