then Fed would have 19 career grand slams by now.

It's over for Fed, he will never beat Nadal again. Too
psychologically devastating, to lose to Nadal on all surfaces now.
His only hope would be if someone else beats Nadal.

True, but the win at the French was rather insignificant because
Courier was the dominant clay-court player that year.

But there were 5 matches at Wimby, USO where if Agassi beat Sampras he
either wins the title or has a very strong shot of going on to win the
title.

6 matches - 4 at USO & 2 at Wimbledon - all going to Sampras. They also
played once in YEC final & Pete smashed him in straights.

And why is that? Agassi and Sampras were born within 1 year of each
other?

What does their all-time record look like if Agassi wins the 1990 USO
final, the 1995 USO final, that 1993 Wimbledon match, the 1999
Wimbledon final and the 2001 USO quarterfinal? Then who's the goat and
who's the *part-time goat*?

Sampras didn't deal with Agassi at two of the four majors, AO & FO.

3-0 Agassi.

FO loss was meaningless as Agassi himself got smashed by Courier next
rd, so neither player cost the other a slam. AO yes, Agassi beat Pete
in 1 AO final in a very tight match. I bet Fed wished Rafa cost him
only 1 AO.

Be serious.
Agassi can at most pretend to journeyman GOAT / part-time GOAT.

I think Golden CGS refers to winning all the Slams once and winning
the Olympics in your career.

Agassi and Graf have done it.

There is no Olympics this year. So not possible.

Rafa is likely to have a Golden CGS by the end of the year.

Lendl would have said that about Becker. If not for him he would have
won 3 Wimbledons and probably NCYGS in 86-87
McEnroe would have said that about Lendl. If not for him he would have
won French Open and probably CYGS in 84.

Everyone has someone to stop something. Nothing new.

Sanchez Vicario stopped a back to back CYGS.

But how many Slams would Agassi have had if not for Sampras? So Pete
also had a potential goat
candidate to deal with. And deal with him he did.

It's impossible to know how the non-existence of one person might have
affected reality. Everything might have been different. Since Nadal
has dominated the Spanish tennis scene, and some of his countrymen
have expressed that they didn't want to play too hard against him in
tournaments where he was expected to win, it's quite possible that
another Spanish player, or a player of some other nationality, might
have excelled in his place, or some completely different scenario.

Yep, both are freaking!
Sampras is definetly lucky to have RaFed in slam finals.
Take out 50% of the finalists, and his record would have allready been
destroyed by huge margin, or in very "clear & present danger"!

History, you see, isn't without a sense of irony.
The next two goat candidates right after Sampras had to play each
other so often, how weird for them; how good for tennis.

And if only another man hadn't been born then Nadal would have 8 Grand Slam
titles at the age of 22.

Grand Slam = winning all 4 majors the same year
Career (Grand) Slam = winning all 4 majors during career
Major = (Grand) Slam (tournament)
Golden (Grand) Slam = Grand Slam + Olympic gold
Career Golden Slam = look above
