Federer v Wawrinka

Tough for Nadal - probably the best draw that Federer could have asked
for (though don't know the first three rounds yet)

Federer takes him very seriously since losing to him in the SF of AO.
Actually Federer takes any former #1 or slam winner very seriously.

If he can get into round 3 and take out Federer there, the rest should
be easy ;)

He is very dangerous on hardcourt.

And the small matter of a (un)certain Marat Safin in round 3, a random
2 time AO finalist and - by conquering peak Federer - former AO
champion.

A 2 time hard court slam champion and - beside Federer and Nadal - the
only player to beat Novak Djokovic in any slam since 2006.

Safin has had consistently bad results in all tournaments last few
years. He has to be serving really well to have any chance. Most
overrated player.

Moya is in worst form I've ever seen him, according to Kooyong.

Seppi, although being a choker, is a tough 1st round opponent.

Going by ranking, here are the first 3 rounds for the Top 4 seeds

Federer:

Seppi is ranked #34 and barely missed getting seeded. Follow that up
with b2b former #1s in Moya and Safin who are both Slam winners.
#41 Moya
#26 Safin

Nadal:

#75 and 5'7" Christophe Rochus
#58 Florent Serra (who quakes if Nadal is within a mile)
#29 Tursunov

Murray:

#1140 and 35 year old Andrei Pavel
#50 Granollers
#31 Jurgen Melzer

Djokovic:

Qualifier
#73 Jeremy Chardy
#28 Mathieu

Federer has by far the roughest start.

Make that qualifier, Chardy, Nieminen, bye bye :-)

Though Chardy is tough too.
