Meryl streep has had 15 nominations and won twice. It's not only lead
actress that counts.

I dont like the retarded Oscar logic that makes it dificult to win
more than 2 oscars. Only 4 of them have won 3 or more Oscars yet
(Katherine Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Walter Brennan and Jack Nicholson)

If you act in a classic and you give a marvellous performance better
than anyone that year, you should win, regardless of whether it is
your 10th Oscar.

There is no semis/QF/.../1st round in Oscars. So no excuse. Oscars
have notoriously picked wrong choices over time, but it is not always.

It has happened to many. If you are really a great actress you will
win. May be she was good enough to win a nomination but not good
enough to win it. I saw the Reader by the way and she was good in
that. So she could win it this year. Her antics at the Golden Globes
might have pissed off the Oscar voters though.

I know I said it in another thread, but Kate Winslet will win this
year for "The Reader", its 99.9% guarnteed. And Sean Penn, I give him
about a 70-75% chance of winning for "Milk". Mickey Rourke being the
other closest candidate.
Also, Clint Eastwood should be there this year for his performance in
"Gran Torino". Just because he already has won it twice(?), they
shouldn't have passed him up for that performance....that was odd to
say the least.

Even though Im not a big fan of the Titanic, the snubbing she received
for the Titanic in 1997 was inexcusable. It's unbelievable she's been
nominated 6 times and hasn't won, what a travesty.
