Or Fed simply dominates hardcourts like he's done in the past.

++ Ya, Murray does look like he's really ramping up to put forth a big
effort in 2009... I think Nadal and Federer will want to play Djokovic
rather than Murray at the slams... so... the race for 2,3,4 should be
interesting... Federer getting back to #1 will be difficult UNLESS
Nadal's tendonitus starts to grip him earlier in the season OR his
clay court run begins to fade...

It's a fine line and Murray needs to max out his potential if he wants
to win Slams. Getting stronger is one way to go at it. It can't hurt
him if he does it right.

I think Murray will be a big force throughout 2009. He seems very
determined.

You have been following Murray pretty closely this off season.

What's your take on Murray? Clearly he has made improvements to his mental
game as well as his tennis game. But, will this last? Murray seems like
such a hot-head that I could picture him easily relapsing into very bad
on-court behavior if things don't go his way. I don't think it helps his
mental game that he is being touted as being right up there with Nadal,
Federer and Djokovic. I think tennis-wise he certainly has that potential,
but his worst quality has to be his overall mentality. I would really like
to see it last, but I for one worry if this was a season-ending flash in the
pan for him....

For me it seems he felt how the hard physical work he put in the beginning
of 2008 helped his results and he thinks if he increase the level of torture
he puts on his body a level or two his results will go up a level or two as
well, something that makes me wonder if the excessive bulking and training
can result in an injury and can cause him to be slower and lose his touch
for the racquet and the ball.

Murray is a great admirer of Nadal. So maybe that is his role model and
he does appear to be getting muscular, if one can trust the new pictures
and compare them with his scrawny before pictures.
