Usually he can make it to the latter part of the year before running
into problems - a concern that so early in the season it's flaring up
again.

Should be ok though - he'll probably pull out of Dubai and play just
IW/Miami before the clay season

++ Jason, again though, he's 22/3 and is in the full blood rush of his
youthful prime, on top of the tennis world, conqueror of the great
Federer and THEN HE'S advised/asked to play it safe... logic is a
difficult sell to a player in that situation, that prime time of
life... AND given that it's his nature to want to practice long and
hard and play a lot, defend his clay titles, improve on hc's, he's
wired to be out there, playing competing, challenging himself...
playing against ones nature is incredibly difficult, even when prudent
or advised, EVEN with injury beckoning, lol... as Toni Nadal is no
doubt finding...

I didn't think he should've played this tournament. He shouldn't play
DC either or Barcelona, etc. Whatever
he can do to reduce wear and tear.

When you've got 6 Slams at the age of 22, you need to be thinking of
bigger and better things.

Absolutely. I cannot see why he continues to play these tournaments. Ok,
he gets a zero in the rankings because 4 ATP500 tournaments are
mandatory, but so what? I am pretty sure he will not play Dubai. DC is
more of an open question.

PS.
