US David Cup captain Patrick McEnroe says that Roger Federer choked
away his Australian Open final against Rafael Nadal, who has now
beaten the Swiss in their last five matches.

"Roger can't be called the greatest ever yet," McEnroe told Foxsports.
"He basically folded in the fifth set, he succumbed to the pressure."

Mac says that the race to try and win one more major to level on the
14 Grand Slam record of Pete Sampras may have gotten into Federer's
head, along with the fact that he was playing one of the few players
who has a winning mark against him.

"Chasing the record 14 is tough and obviously the guy is in his head,"
McEnroe added. "It's going to be difficult for Roger to come back from
this."

McEnroe also had some advice for the shattered Swiss: "He needs a
coach. He's always been so talented he could go out there and figure
it out. All of sudden he's playing a guy he can't do it against.
He's so stubborn."

Federer will hope to start working to improve a 6-13 losing mark
against Nadal when the pair both play the Barclays Championships in
Dubai starting in a fortnight.

Right!

It looks like he's been reading our posts here on rst because there
isn't anything that he said that we haven't already covered here.

He's still a nice guy though.
