Subject: Punters back Nadal to win calendar Grand Slam
Newly crowned Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal has been installed
as a $7 chance to be the first player since Rod Laver to win the
calendar Grand Slam.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said while it was obviously
an enormous ask, Nadal looked to have the game to create history.

=93Nadal looks a good thing in the French, very hard to beat at
Wimbledon and he will be favourite for the US Open,=94 Sullivan said.

=93He looks to have the wood over Roger Federer now and produced an
amazing effort to back up from the marathon win against Verdasco to
beat Federer in five sets in the final.=94

=93The $7.00 looks to be value and will only shorten up if he wins at
Roland Garros where he has an unbelievable record.=94

Sullivan said Nadal=92s dominance over Federer meant the great Swiss
player was only $2.25 not to win a major this year.

=93In previous years, Federer would have been enormous odds not to win a
major for the year but he is nowhere near as dominant as he has been
for the last five years.=94

=93We have him $2.15 to win a single major for year and equal Pete
Sampras=92 record of fourteen Grand Slams and Wimbledon does look his
best chance.=94

=93Federer has started Wimbledon odds on for the past few years but it
doesn=92t look like being the case this year.=94

He may not be and Nadal has put himself in the conversation, but if it
ends up with Fed with 15 Slams
and Nadal with 9, is Rafa the clear-cut best of his era? Wouldn't you
agree he can only be the clear-cut bohe if he and Fed are very close
in overall Slams, together with the dominating head to head?

I think Fed will win two if he's lucky, but one at most. Rafa is the
clear favourite to win the French Open but I still think it could go
either way at Wimbledon. It's insane to expect him to carry on winning
3 out of 4 of the Grand Slam events year in, year out. He's still far
from faded.

Federer fans have taken their money an abandoned their idol. They do not
believe he's the greatest player of even his time.
