Subject: Question about Pere Riba
I just noticed that among those scheduled to play in the AOs
qualifying draw there's a guy named Pere Riba.
What I wonder is whether this person is the same Pere Riba that has
been riding in the World Superbike Championship for years.
I know it would be pretty weird that a 30something guy who has been a
professional motorbiker for years gives a try to be a tennis pro and
then succeeds enough in this to qualify to play at grand slam qualies
level.
But then 'Pere Riba' is such a strange name that it would be weird
that there are two different people named this way, too.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any biographic information about the
tennis Pere Riba.
The motorcycles guy is born on May the 2nd 1969. This makes him really
very old to play at tennis grand slams as a debutant.
Maybe is the tennis Pere Riba the son of the motorcyclist?
Does anyone know?

The guy has a catalan name. It is most likely a different person. Riba
is not an uncommon last name, and Pere, which is the catalan for Peter
is as common as it gets, well maybe not as common as Joan =3D John or
Josep =3D Joseph, but close.
