Exactly. Just like its silly for Nadal fans to talk bad about Fed, or
for Sampras fans to talk bad about Fed.

It is stupid to try to run Nadal down in hoped of building Federer up.
They are both super in their own way.

Nadal has already surpassed Feddy by winning the Channel Slam.
Feddy is a footnote* in history now.

Not as big as winning slams in 3 continents Europe, Oceania and North
America.

++ Ya, I don't understand why people are anti-Nadal... the guy's a
hard worker, talented, respectful and as great a competitor as the
modern game has produced who at a very young age has already
established himself as a major player, a champion, one of the greats
on clay and a budding Wimbledon giant... plus he comes across as
sincere and a really decent, nice guy... ok, he has one annoying habit
but so what???

++ And since 2007 Nadal has said repeatedly that he feels that he must
improve his serve if he wants to stay at the top of the men's game...
so he knows that serving as he does becomes an issue on hardcourts...
he just doesn't win enough easy points... that's why he trying to get
his 'at net' percentage up more and more to "make like easier" to
quote McEnroe on the net game... trouble for Nadal is - as a few have
identified here on RST - that Nadal under pressure tends to go into
fall back mode and stops advancing and become over protective...
against an in form Tsonga or Djokovic in full flow serving and hitting
corners with his groundies on HC, it just doesn't give him the best
chance at winning on a consistant bases over 5 sets in the slams...
and Nadal must know that, certainly Uncle Toni does... should be
interesting to see if Nadal tries to really get forward more on HC...
though he'll have to have a solid first serve percentage because his
second serve simply cannot support that kind of offensive tennis... at
least not yet...

I don't love watching his game; that's a matter of personal taste. He also
has more than one annoying habit.

But he certainly has the ability to win another Wimbledon - it's hard
courts that are tough for him because they reward big serves and power
hitting. Grass can reward those, too - but it can also reward spins and
athleticism. Even Roddick commented that grass helps out Nadal's serve.

Yes Nadal's serve out wide is most effective on grass.

More the effects of picking his ass and passing gas which momentarily
retards his opponent.
