Eat shit. That extra slam doesnt count. Seles was way more dominant
and won USO twice and FO thrice. Serena won only one FO and that too
when the draw was really soft and she had to face her big sis who is
even worse on clay.

Thats just bullshit. I have no association with that lunatic. Nor does
Graf. We both wish he never existed. Steffi would have won a lot more
slams, if not for that loon.

Yes they are among greatest just like Serena. But in the lower ranks.

Agreed.

Sampras and Mac never won FO either. And they are among the greatest.

The Grafan who stabbed her robbed Seles of about 6 slams, gave Stefi
about 6 slams, and denied Seles the title of "best player of the 90s".

Nevertheless, Serena would have killed Seles on all surfaces but clay,
and on clay it would have been damn close, vs. peak serena.

True.

She still had to win those though.

True.

Let's compare it to Rafa/Fed.
In 2005 Rafa loked as a complete joke on Wimbledon grass, losing in round 3.
In 2006 he was bageled in his first set in Wimbledon final. You know the
2007 and 2008.

Seles missed Wimbledon in 1991, reached her first final and lost to Graf
comfortably in 1992. She was 18 (!) at the time.
Who is to say that, whitout interruption she wouldn't have improved, just
like Rafa and at least won one of those in later years?
Most likely she would, togehter with winning some more AO/FO/USO.

She was a terrific big match player, just like Rafa. Her fitness was not her
biggest strenght and like Rafa isn't the best candidate for longevity.
She was (in percentages I believe) more succesful in slams than in regular
tour matches.

Now, let's assume some sick Federer fan does something to Rafa's family, his
little sister, girlfriend or something like that?

Do you think he'd be as powerful mentally as he is now?
In situations against Federer like the other day, when he saved 6 break
points in the finish of the third set?

Seles was physically attacked and assaulted, that is a big blow for a
19-year old girl. She was never the same mentally after that.

Graf is not guilty, and she deserves everything she later won.

But her fans should have more common decency and show more respect for Seles
becuause it was "one of them" who completely screwed Monica's career and
altered tennis history for good.

But she still has won one FO yet. And has struggled to win FO since
then. Seles was equally dangerous on clay and hc. Serena not so.

I always wonder what the potential has been wasted in Seles's case.
She could've been the greatest of all times. But I wouldn't say eat
shit. It's not Serena's fault that the draw was soft. She can only
play whoever showed up. And she is very good.
