Serena was whipped 63 61 by Elena Dementieva in the Sydney WTA SF.
This is her
4th straight victory over Serena, so it's not exactly an upset. But
Serena doesn't think so:

"I gave it away more than anything," said Williams, who denied injury
or fatigue played a factor in the loss to the in-form Russian. "I made
a lot of errors and made her look like a champ, really. I just pretty
much gave her the match."

I hope Dementieva beats her again at the AO if their paths cross.

Oracene didn't you teach her about classy responses?

At least she blames herself.

Yes but she only does it because to her narcissistic/full of shit mind
it is more acceptable to think she can control everything and that when
she gets her ass handed to it's only because she didn't try hard enough.
She likes to think she is capable of anything regardless of the result.

Heh. That's classic Serena. Hmm, didn't see this one, maybe I got too
excited about Wozniacki if Serena loses this easily to Dementieva. But
she must have been tired too.

Dementieva played - and served - great. But SW had her right ankle
rewrapped a couple of times (it was already wrapped when she came on
court, I think), and I thought her foot might well be bothering her.

When her serve is "on", she's Top Five.

When it's "off", she's Top Ten.

(What a defensive game!)

Not classy, for sure, but part her "job".
Maybe Serena has to behave that way and to believe that to be who she is...

LOL

That _is_ kind of skanky, 'cause Elena _is_ a champ:

Remember the Olympics?

Still, errors are errors.

That would be interesting.
