What happened to that mentally weak, choker we knew as Verdasco?
Brain transplant?

He's still going to lose this match though. His legs will be gone in
a set or two.

I do not remember that Borg couldn't beat McEnroe at Wimbledon. I must
have watched the wrong tournament. :)

You got the point..no need to make jokes. Situation is very serious, Nadal
said he doesn't know if he could get enough rest for the final and that
Federer is to be considered a favorite.

Rafa is choking a little. I don't mind Verdasco but it would spoil a
slam final. These new guys always get slaughtered in their 1st slam finals.

That's true, Fed slaughters first time slam finalists like the lambs they
are.

It would be far better for Fed's legacy to beat Rafa in final.

Rubbish. When all is said and done, everybody will remember the totals, and
nobody will remember the specifics except for us nuts that populate specialist
forums - nobody remembers who Pioline or Schuettler are, but sure as hell they
know who Sampras or Agassi are and what they hauled.

It's a bit different when you have 2 greats playing each other in so
many slam finals. Remember how Agassi is downgraded because he could
never beat Sampras at USO/Wim - reverse a couple those & Agassi is right
up there. All Agassi did was deprive Sampras of 1 AO - that's small
change compared to 3 USO & 1 Wimbledon final won by Sampras, all in
decisive 3 or 4 setters.

Fed losing this final to Rafa would really hurt his 'absolute goat'
claims. He'd be 2 v 5 in slam finals, losing on clay, grass & HC. Ouch!

Isn't Whisper always belittling Sampras for his wins over the Piolines
and Martins and the 3 Wimbledons he won without meeting anyone in the
Top 16?

But they remember Lendl beat McEnroe at FO, Borg couldn't beat Mac at W/USO
etc.

At least he took off a set. I wasn't expecting that.
