Subject: Who was it said Federer was saving his serve for the AO?
When he was rolling his serves in during Abu Dhabi/Doha?

Just as well he kept back the big serving for Melbourne, eh?

That's exactly what he's planning. That way, he will tie Sampras in 7543 with
80 but have the edge with 15 vs 14 and career slam.

/no? :D

Well, he did serve good in the previous 6 matches.

I believe "14" + Nadal at the other side gave him a fatal case of nerves.

Exactly.

Take a deep breath, take a walk, cool off, plot a bit, and serve again.

I don't know about that, but after watching the first set of the men's
final I must say I got more of a sense of power from the women's last few
rounds than that . . . .

What's with all the slice-rallies with these pansies, anyway?

(I do recognize Rafa puts a lot of his power into the _vertical_ component
of his serves etc.)
