Good point. Tennis can become bored as chess, which started to be
boring when the big winners were always Russians. After, again has
become more boring when large computers started to beat the humans
always. When was the last time that chess was shown on medias as
something important ? Deep blue ? Thus, tennis is coming to their
"state of maximum entropy" ?

Enjoy.

Nadal never won Wimbledon back to back thrice in a row. Good luck for
him. He is nowhere near Borg as of now.

I don't know about that - Nadal's style is very unique and hard to
copy. McEnroe for example was hugely popular but how many copied his
jerky backhand?

Undoubtly. I'm a Rafa fan since 2003. Rafa is also GOOD PEOPLE. Note
that please.

Enjoy.

That's true, he's a real nice guy.
What I don't like about him is the fact that he looks like Jose Maria Aznar.
Just the moustache missing but...

That's true. Nadal is a truly great player, and appears to be a terrific person.
The only thing I don't like about Nadal is that his success means that more and
more players are going to follow in his footsteps. His style will likely consume
the game.

I find that disheartening, since I find his general style of play boring without
a suitable counterstyle on the other side of the net.

When that happens, men's tennis will be no more entertaining than watching
matches among women such as Andrea Jaeger, Lindsey Davenport, Dinara Safina, and
the Williams sisters. {shudder}

I agree there will be that negative effect of young players emulating him,
who aren't as nearly as good.
Like that self-proclaimed "american rafael nadal" wayne odesnik.

but otoh, I don't despair, men's tennis is so much more competiitive,
when/if we do get all those mindless rafa's clones there, a solid, not even
neccessary a great volleyer will be able to crush many of them. Maybe that's
what's neccessary for ressurgance of volley-game.

Only player ever I had sympathies for because of his/her personality.
