Or will it be "Roddick"?

How many times did the AO have the number 1 & 2 seeds in the final?

I think it's all mental. If Verdasco doesn't get psyched out, he
will win.

I have it too.

AO always has one surprise finalist, and it would be almost to perfect to
have Federer and Nadal in yet another slam final.

No longer have that *gut feeling* that either Rafa or Roger won't make
the final? :)

++ True... BUT for that to be true this year Verdasco will have to
beat Rafa :)

That's a tall ask... does Verdasco BELIEVE he can win? Will he take
his chances at the vital moments? If it's yes to both he could do
it...

There is an AO tradition for a surprise finalist:

Tsonga, Gonzalez, Baghdatis. Safin/Hewitt was an exception. Safin was
a surprise in 2004. Then comes Schüttler, Johansson, Clement.

Actually, Safin vs Hewitt _was_ a surprise: almost everybody expected Federer vs
Roddick or Federer vs Hewitt in the final.

If Verdasco somehow upsets Rafa then Fed is guaranteed the title. It'll
be USO final all over again - debutante with stagefright.

++ I'm sticking with my gut feeling that either Roger or Rafa are not
going to make the final... not sure which... probably I am wrong...
I'd love to see a Roger-Rafa final... their first HC duel... would
really fire up the season... of course so would SOMEONE, ANYONE
winning a slam final other than Roger and Rafa *chuckle*
