unlike sampras, federer has no problems playing in the middle of the day.

heck he wiped out jokovic in the USO semi during the day, when it was
90+ degrees and humid.

The biggest draws will always tend to get the night matches. The
tournament is trying to make money, afterall. If you weren't such a
fuckwit, you might have noticed that pattern before this.

They put him on at night because he pulls in the crowd and TV viewers. They
might also do it to protect him. He also likes playing at night.
