Richard Gasquet...

i know everyone else already gave up on him, but probab;y being the
only one who thought he "just needs" time to work on his awesome game
(at times) to become a top 5 player, having watched him against Gonzo
in that amazing match i really thought he was almost ready for the big
breakthrough..

i guess i was wrong...he just lost to Matthieu and there for i no
longer believe in him, he just infuriates me more and more since i
keep having this nagging feeling that he should be doing so much
better...but each an every time he manages to dissapoint.

i'll guess ill enjoy the amazing shots he plays here and there,
without making him giving me hope for him actually achieving
something...

so dissapointing.

(ok i now need a new favorite)

I think Murray wins last year at W was the equivelant of what Nadals
was to Roger at the AO - he just broke down horribly..

I like Murray though but I agree as shots goes Murrays are pretty ugly
and as Im purist I will always love the those guys that can hit nicely
- Richards forehand needs work imo , its strange shot and not pretty
or really that effective.

Let's be honest, it's quite ugly too. Almost nullifies his beautiful
backhand.

I haven't - I think a big breakthru for him is right around the corner
- maybe a huge upset of a top player. I think he knows he is more
gifted than Murray, and he can use Murray's success as fuel...

Have the same feeling now...but giving up would
be so much more disappointing that it already is.
I just can't.
Most frustrating ever this guy!

I think he's still recovering from the Gonzo match. Give him a bit longer.

Well, I remember thinking the same thing about Federer after 2002 FO.

If shot makers with 1-H backhands are your thing, you may have to just
stick with Gasquet, I'm afraid....

No way, he can convert to Dimitrov soon. Besides, Gasquet becomes 23
years old in 2009 - too old to develop that much more.

PS.

Just watch....now that you have officially given up on him he will go on to
win FO/W combo this year:)
