It's just tendinitis. 99.9% of basketball players have it. Rest and
treatment makes the swelling go down for several weeks, until it acts
up again (if player doesn't rest enough).

Don't worry, Rafa will sweep the clay season.

Someone pointed out that Nadal had a prior obligation to play the
tournament. If he had broken it, the same blokes would be knocking him
for that.
Tendonitis can be serious if neglected. Nadal should not play any more
hard court tournaments and save himself for the French.

rafa, costa and uncle toni are mercenaries that care just about the
money and not rafas health or career.

Agreed - sad to see some posters in RST putting all their hope and
faith on Rafa getting injured. I have to say that the Nadal haters are
far worse than the Fed haters - the Fed haters merely question whether
Fed was injured/ill (mono), many of the Rafa haters WANT to see him
injured so that Fed can win everything...

No, they put some hope on increasing doping control too.

Can't agree with that.

no. we don't WANT to see him injured but it is so obvious that he WILL
BE injured and it will end his career when it happens. it's his fault.
if he insists on playing like a cockaroach he will die like a
cockaroach. only question is how long it takes to succumb to the RAID.

His nuclear defense is something to be admired, not denigrated like this.

Just a quick unsolicited English usage tip (hope you don't mind ;-)

Whenever you're going to write there/their, ask yourself "can I
substitute 'his'?"

So for example "That's their problem" - You could say "that's his
problem" and it also makes sense.

Where as "there are only 11 of them" - You can't say "his are only 11
of them"

Again, hope I'm not being annoying but I notice you've written "their"
for "there" numerous times now.

You mean he does that deliberately all the time? I think he is not
serious in many things, but as I mentioned in the other thread, this
seems to be an error many English speaking people here do. It would be
hard to remember to make that error deliberately all the time. Also
his explanation for using it was interesting, or do you think that was
not serious either?

I got the feeling that he made a mistake the first time (you are right that
it is a common mistake) but afterwards both the explanation and the
continued (and exaggerated) use of it was not serious. It's not hard to
remember to do that so often when it's on purpose. I could be wrong though.

"The first time", if you mean the post, which I replied to and asked
about it, in that post and in that thread he made it several times
(before my post). I can't be certain that he has made it all the time
when posting here, because many others do it too. But maybe he has
done it even more after that.

I think it's because Nadal and the tournament had a very strong
agreement/contract. The tournament even changed the balls in favour
of Nadal and have already paid him a big signing bonus (which he
signed last year or the year before?).

He could just say, I am #1, I will make my own limited schedule, and
pay the fines or take the zero point allocation as the rules dictate;
whatever he and his camp thinks best prepares him for RG. No Olympics
this summer, so he'll take it easy...compared to last year.

Thanks for the good news!
It was still very stupid to play in thsi tournament. Why? For the
stinking money that he has more than he knows what to do with?
Something is very bad...
