What is she doing in the main draw in Hasselt?

And that's enough to get an entry to the main draw while being ranked
1xx? Note she is _not_ listed as a WC.

She was the runner-up to Oprandi at the Denain $75K Challenger (second
week of the US Open), and the runner-up to Müller the next week at
Bordeaux. Perhaps one of these gave a feed-up to the Hasselt main draw to
the winner, but since Oprandi and Müller would have had high enough
rankings not to need the feed-up, it went to Kloesel instead.

It looks like they have put a lot of qualifiers in the top of the
draw. That's very thoughtful of them to give Kim nice and easy
comeback in her home tournament :-) And there is no Schnyder in the
draw. So does that mean she has given up on YEC?

They have declared Kim in for the YEC. That is all that matters.

Yes, I noticed when I read a few threads more... :-)

She's trailing Clijsters by 156 points. A win in Hasselt is worth 120
points, so she cannot overtake Kim no matter what. She's tired. Better
to be rested in case someone withdraws.

Note also that:

1) There are 10 (sic!) places in the main draw to be filled by Q/LLs.
So, 4 qualification winners, 4 qualification runner-ups, and then
what? 2 losers from the qualification 2nd round? Are they still
around?

2) There is now a player ranked 1482 in the main draw 8-). I thought
you needed 3 results to be ranked at all - is it no longer true?
