Federer's forehand let him down a little today, and Srichaphan nearly pulled off a big upset. Roger probably has his serve to thank for making it through. Great match. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=4FA593807A2F1A2A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ9ZgENI7Yo

Fed looks a little tired - less pep on his groundies. Schricha missed many opportunities to come to the net - had Fed stretch very wide & woulda been easy volleys had he come in. Fed still looks the same at the net - just can't bring himself to trust his instincts & commit to the volleys... : (

It's called getting tired playing all tournaments, reaching their finals and winning every match! Do you think it's a valid reason? :) Funny! chrome wrote: > "Erich" <dontsp@mmeoriwillgetangry.co.aus.de> wrote in message > news:Xns986ACB29CCC1Edontspmmeoriwillgeta@140.99.99.130... > > Federer's forehand let him down a little today, and Srichaphan nearly > > pulled off a big upset. Fed looked a little run down. Compared to his previous outings where he was just in total domination mode. His rhythm now is interesting and perhaps showing signs of weakness. Last year I noticed he'd start slow in tournaments and not really play well at the beginning, but really bring his level up just at the right times. In this tournament the opposite is evident, perhaps indicative of some problems to come, a sort of pride going before the fall, thinking he can smash everyone to pieces from the get-go. Ferrer's massive effort like I said seemed to take the wind out of his sails and now he looks a bit lost. We'll see what happens next!

We'll see what happens next! A few people have said Federer looked tired in Basel, but I don't think that's really the case. Most of the players have looked more than a little wrecked in their matches, sweating badly. Even Henman, who rarely breaks a sweat looked like he had run a triple marathon at the end of his match with Wawrinka, and Srichaphan was literally gushing sweat 3 or 4 games into his match with Federer. I think someone just forgot to turn on the air conditioning in the stadium. As for Federer starting of strong, he probably knows winning Madris, Basel and Paris back to back is going to be physically demanding, so he didn't want to spend too much time on court this week, and that plan had worked quite well until he ran into Srichaphan. He looked more relieved than tired after that win, I thought. I don't think tiredness will be an issue tomorrow, but it could be in Paris, if he does decide to play.

What a superb match. I had to go out at 1 set all so thanks for the recording. Srichaphan hit some blinders with his backhand today. Looks like he relied on the weapon of being able to pull it out halfway through the deciding set tiebreaker. It was very close.
