He has to do a *lot* more before he can fairly be considered a
comparable threat to Roddick.

Yes, but Verdasco looks a different player now.

For the first time he realises that he needs to work hard, the work he
did with Reyes in Las Vegas opened his eyes. Whatever Agassi said to
him as well seems to have made a difference.

And who did Nadal beat? A bunch of losers, since Murray didn't make
and Tsonga wasn't in his quarter. Any of those 2 players would have
beaten Nadal easily, because a good two handed bh is better to counter
a lefty than another lefty forehand...as it leaves your own forehand
to go after Nadals weak bh.

Instead, Nadal got to play a TIRED choker Verdasco, who was spent
after a 5 setter vs Murray and a 4 setter vs Tsonga, and then choked
it in the end with 2 df's.

Esspecialy a healty Murray would have raped Nadal here, Verdasco
played flashy but didn't manage to get many bp chances...you just know
Murray would have broken the bumrooter at least twice per set.

So if anyone was lucky, it was Nadal. Djokovic was in crappy form
anway, he wouldn' have bother Fed. Time for Novak to use his adidas
brand and visit Gil Reyes

LOL. Fed was being kind.

Verdasco is 25 years old. In that time he has picked up two minor
titles and only been past the 4th round of a slam once (this
tournament). Roddick, at 26 years old, is a former number one, with 26
titles, has won slam and been past 4R of a slam 16 times.

verdasco beat murray and tsonga

who did roddick beat? nobody. the only good player roddick beat
retired from heat exhaustion. in 2009 verdasco looks to be more than
2009 roddick. just ask fed who said in kooyoung that verdasco would be
a slam contender. and people laughed. but fed was right.

Especially given that he was playing a journeyman.

Nadal has one day to rest, right? If Nadal won his match in three sets
we wouldn't hear this cry. As I said, Nadal needs to play aggressive
tennis and finish the points early instead of keeping the ball in play
waiting for the opponent to make an error.

the schedule favored fed at the 2008 uso and now again the schedule
favors fed at the 2009 ao. in 2 slams in a row the cheating swiss gets
the best schedule. CHEATER.

The semifinal is two days before the final. If Nadal is unable to close the
match without running 5 hours it's his problem. Nothing is fixed at all.

How come? Nadal played on Thursday last year while Federer played on
Friday?
