In weightlifting, you can "clean and jerk" more than anyone does but
if you fail to make it in the "snatch" category or vice-versa; you
will not be the greatest a weightlifting champion.

It is the same in gymnastics, several Olympic events and of course in
tennis also. It is sickening to watch the pitiful attempts of fan-
fanatics who try to make one slam look more important than other slams
just to make their favorite come out better.

We could establish a fair appraisal of Wimbledon if we would take
Raja's moronic ideas and mix them with Whisper=92s moronic ideas. The
answer should be somewhere in the middle. Wimbledon is a slam and that
makes it one of the four great tournaments that all tennis
professionals aspire to win. It may be hyped more than the other slams
but it is no more or less than the other slams.
Only complete idiots would attempt to belittle Sampras, Federer, Nadal
and any of the tennis greats. Sampras is still the holder of most
slams won. That is an accomplishment deserving respect. One could
detail the awesome accomplishments of Federer and Nadal but why
bother.

Yes, no point until they catch up to Sampras.

It clearly isn't clay. No evidence at all to support that theory.

It seems that whenever players are asked what they think of a
tournament they just won, they say that it is the best. It also seems
that players are asked this silly question more often at Wimbledon
than at any other tournament. The explanation may be that having no
covered courts and crappy surface, the English feel so inferior about
their slam that they need re and reassurance about their event.

The value of every slam is the same, about the same prize and exactly
the same points awarded. So, what is it that makes Wimbledon more
prestigious than other slams? It is the hype and hype has nothing to
do with tennis.

Naturally, it is just an opinion and since tennis is just a game, it
really makes no difference and your opinion is just as good but not
better than any.

every player & expert also agree that the goat can not be totally lame
on clay which is the most played on and most major surface in the
game.

W must stand for wingnut.

This might be a radical concept for you, but maybe just maybe all slams
are not equal?

Indeed there isn't a player or expert alive who thinks they are equal.
I'm puzzled why rst'ers disagree? Bizarre.
