Great post, really.
Putting things into perspective, one thing average_joe & trolls hardly
remember to do.

Yes, he didn't defend his title at a whopping 5 places
and lost every time he tried to defend.
I checked whether even the 'quitter' tag is justified.
Since 2003 (when he turned pro), Djoker has played in
108 events (incl DC ties but no exos) and has quit
'only' 9 times, i.e. just 8.33% of the times. Don't know
how that compares with others.

Yep, 3 isn't a trend.
Plus Djoker has some kind of a gift, as quitter.
He doesn't retire facing clowns, at slam.
Nadal at both the French & Wimby (IIRC).
Roddick now at the AO.
Should give Federer a chance to be USO's one Djoler retires to :-)

Talking about trend (bad ones), how about Pioline's 14 (maybe 12 or
13, maybe 15, can't remember) consecutive losts in finals, no matter
if he was giving the title to Sampras or uberclowns.
And there are still tier1 analysts saying how stronger was the field
15 years ago.

I didn't look at it that way :-)
'I hate to lose so much ... that I quit instead' !
He has two large gorillas on his back now ...
- the reputation of being a sore loser/ quitter
- the record of not being able to defend a single of his titles

Anyone betting on Djoker at IW, Rome or the Masters Cup? :-)

Sad thing is, he's already made more money in his life than most of=20
RST ever will. And I do mean it, that it's a sad thing.

How much is that ? I can't believe he is ahead of me.

Rogi is though.

Anyone betting on Djoker at IW, Rome or the Masters Cup? :-)

I agree on the first one, but the latter is just stupid.
AO is his only third failed attempt in defending a title.

0/3 is 0%, very bad, but still, it's just three titles he had a chance to
defend and failed.

lol - good one.

You must admire it, though, the guys just doesn't want to lose.

Not my cup of tea, as I would always think that I might have missed a chance
for come-back.

But he's kinda cool with this approach. At first not, but it has become a
trademark.

I bet he drives the bookmakers crazy. :)

I would pay money to see Fed's smirk right now.
